Dear Global Warming Alarmists (Chicken Little, Call Your Office)

Dear Global Warming Alarmists,

I have a proposition for you. Please answer fully and completely either one of two questions and I will consider the plausibility of your theories of impending doom.

Question #1: What is the mechanism behind *natural* global warming? (Follow-up: Can we stop it?)

Question #2: What is the mechanism behind natural global cooling? (Follow-up: Can we stop it?)

My understanding of the relevant data leads me to the following conclusion: The Earth has been warming and cooling as far back as we can measure, and despite ever-increasing levels of CO2 the Earth ALWAYS cools itself. [From the 1940's through the 1970's we had direct evidence of global cooling at a time when CO2 levels were increasing.]

I also understand that mankind only contributes a tiny portion of the greenhouse gasses that appear to be involved in a "positive feedback loop" of global warming, but as we know the greenhouse gasses come AFTER the warming and the fact that they keep rising does NOT hinder the subsequent cooling in any way.

If you alarmists cannot say with authority WHAT actually causes either the warming OR the cooling, then how can you expect to make a reasonably competent prediction about the warming or the cooling?

Based on the currently known climate history of the planet, I predict the Earth will cool itself despite our global economic development. This prediction is based on simple observation and projection of historical climate trends. My climate model is simply history. No extra math or science required. [It is also based on the fact that I haven't the foggiest notion what the actual cause of global warming or cooling is.]

I leave it to you, the alarmists, to prove that the eons-long natural cycle of warming and cooling has come to an end and that your doomsday scenarios might actually have some validity to them.
